The Getty Museum
White and clean. Two of my favorite things. The minimalist in me could live at The Getty Center. Some come for the art; I come for the off-white architecture. I love how this museum flows under LA’s bright blue skies. It complements the rich green garden, the open blue skies and the spectacular LA view. The art I can get in NYC, but the concrete jungle definitely cannot keep something this white and offer an unobstructed view for FREE!
The Getty Museum & The Getty Villa
The Getty Museum takes up about half a day. The other half can be spent at The Getty Villa, which is free admission and located right off the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. That cruise will make your day. If you want to be ambitious, start your day at The Getty Museum, drive west to The Getty Villa and come back south cruising through Santa Monica beach and ending the night at Venice Beach for a sunset view at a rooftop bar.
Picnic with a panoramic view
The Getty Museum is the perfect place to pack a snack, grab a coffee and spend a warm afternoon with your latest read or take cat naps on the grass under the sun. It’s pure bliss. I wonder if they’d let me do yoga on the lawn. Admission is free, but parking is $15 ($10 after 3PM) and worth every penny.
