The weather is always so good in LA, I make a conscious effort to avoid going “in” to anything. I don’t want to waste a moment indoors if I don’t have to. That's why I always plan an outdoorsy day, starting with a trip to The Griffith Observatory for some sightseeing and light hiking. It's always followed by a insatiable craving to eat everything in sight. The perfect place to start is at The Farmer's Market!
The Farmer’s Market
Parking is free at The Farmer’s Market if you’re there for less than 2 hours with a receipt from a fall stall to validate your parking. That might not be enough time for some you though. The food stalls here never seem to end. It's best to plan ahead and pace yourself because The Grove is only a few minutes away and also filled with restaurants and cafes.
Before heading to The Grove though, I always make a stop at the LACMA. It's a $25 admission fee if you're not an LA resident, but I didn't go in. There's enough free exhibits located outside of the museum. I spent most of the time taking pictures of The Urban Light installation. And like I said, I rather spend time outdoor enjoying the beautiful LA weather.
At The Grove, though, you can't get away with free unless you’re there for only an hour. That won’t happen though. There’s plenty to do there - shop, eat, spa, eat, movie, eat. I’m not a shopper so it’s really just eat, eat, eat. I tell myself it’s okay. I'll walk it off tomorrow. Plenty more outdoorsy days in LA, like a trip to The Getty Museum.
