Normally when I travel, staying at five-star hotels are as real as leprechauns and unicorns. However, since my trip to Vietnam was a required part of my MBA program I stayed at the luxurious Renaissance Riverside Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

The best part of my stay was the breakfast buffet. Delicious pho every morning? Yes, please! The second best part was the roof top pool and the view wasn’t bad either. It overlooked the Saigon River, which appeared a lot less murkier at night.

Firing My First Shot At The Cu Chi Tunnels In Vietnam

Vietnam’s Cu Chi Tunnels may be a claustrophobic experience for some so the shooting range may be a better “hands-on” experience.

The best part of my MBA program was my Global Residency, where I consulted for a non-profit in Vietnam. After months of hard work, my team and I flew out to Ho Chi Minh City for a client presentation. Work kept me from experiencing the city like a tourist, but Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business made a really good effort in filling our expat days with local experiences.
