First stop in Prague – Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square. It was first installed in 1410 and is the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one that still works. I’ve also been told it’s one of the most popular places to get pick-pocketed in Prague.

Every hour, there is a performance called “The Walk of the Apostles”. The figures of the Apostles and other sculptures on the clock put on a show. There’s a legend that a bad omen would befall on the city if the clock isn’t maintained. Maybe the hourly shows are a way to remind the people of Prague to always take note of the historical clock.

Halloween? More Like Hallow Prague!

(Re)connecting in Madrid on my way to Prague is making me reflect on past trips abroad.

 

While the rest of NYC strutted down 6th Avenue for the annual Halloween parade, I was on my way to Prague via Madrid. It’s been a few years since I visited, but the MAD airport architecture is just as amazing as I remembered. Infinitely better than the cronut I had while waiting for my connecting flight.
