Gullfoss

One of the main natural wonders of the Golden Circle tour are the waterfalls. The tour I took with Reykjavík Excursions included the three most popular waterfalls in Iceland: Gullfoss, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Gullfoss was the closest one to Reykjavik and the most north of all three. That’s why I almost lost a few fingers trying to capture this shot above.  What was worse than the biting cold? The freezing mist.

Mýrdalsjökull Glacier: A Stunning Ice Cap in Southern Iceland

The Mýrdalsjökull Glacier glows in a stunning hint of blue as it sparkles against the white sky and black sand.

 

 

New York gets just as cold as Iceland in March. However, if I had these gorgeous glacier views instead of the concrete jungle I wouldn’t mind it so much. As part of my Southern Iceland tour, the first attraction on the agenda for the day was Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, which is just north of a small town called Vik. Even on a cloudy day, the glacier glowed in a stunning hint of blue as it sparkled against the white sky and black sand.
