Traveling with a partner in Budapest? Stroll across the Parliament at night on the Pest for an affordable way to add a little romance to your trip.

Another reason why I love Buda? This late night view of the Hungarian Parliament glowing on the bank of the Pest side. Can it get any more magical?

It is the tallest and largest building in Budapest. Everything about this building is symmetrical – inside and out. It has two identical parliament halls – one for politics and the other for guided tours.

The Buda bank right across the Danube River from this Parliament is a perfect date night spot. The bright moonlight, the radiant building and the glistening river below instantly adds romance into any late night stroll. If you’re on a budget, bring your date and your favorite takeout here to turn it into a starry-eyed meal for two. You can also charm your date with ice cream from the local mom and pop shops.

Siiiigh…if only I had my Prince Charming. I’d go for the sunset cruise with a candle lit dinner down the Danube River. It’s especially beautiful during the winter holiday when the riverside is illuminated with festive lights.

There’s also Margaret Island, which sits on the Danube River between Buda and Pest. It is one of the best places to go for a stroll or picnic with its beautifully kept flowers and perfectly luscious grass.
